Victoria Sponge
Recipe For Victoria Sponge;
250g of butter or margarine
250g of caster sugar
250g of self raising flour
4 eggs
2 tablespoons of hot water
Mixing bowl
Weighing scales
A few basic cooking utensils – spoon etc
Step 1
Pre heat your oven to 180 centigrade. Then lightly grease your baking tray with a little butter.
Step 2
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Step 3
Beat in the eggs one at a time adding a tablespoon of the flour with the second egg.
Step 4
Fold in the remaining flour with a metal spoon, then add the hot water.
Step 5
Turn the mixture into the prepared tin(s) and bake as directed, until the cakes spring back when lightly pressed.
Chocolate (optional) - Blend 1 tablespoon of coca powder with 2 tablespoons of hot water. Cool slightly then beat in with the butter and sugar.
